The Halloween season is unstoppable, and so are movies, shows and list of thingamabobs that will get you in for a horrific treat -- and not a trick, hopefully.
We understand that fear is one of the most unique (the most disturbing, probably) human emotions. Hence, these films and shows are picked very carefully. They're not particularly arranged, but each is special in its own and caters to a specific type of audience.
Whether you're 4 or 84, this list is for you.
Ready? Read on (check the lights though).
1. "ABCs of Death 2"
Slated for release on Oct. 31, Moviefone reported that it is "the most ambitious anthology film ever conceived." Why? Think global -- the franchise was filmed in UK, Brazil, Nigeria and more. The film casts Martina García and C. Ernst Harth. By the way, if this isn't interesting enough, let it be known that the film has 26 directors.
2. "Horns"
Daniel Radcliffe, the Boy-Who-Lived in the age's most popular occult franchise that is "Harry Potter," stars in "Horns" as Ignatius Perrish. The film is rated R as noted by Rotten Tomatoes. It's not pure horror, too -- elements of mystery, romance and even comedy are reportedly there. Film comes out on Oct. 31. Come on, it's Daniel Radcliffe!
3. "Babadook"
Children can definitely relate to this one, as Popsugar wrote that the story features a bed monster. "Babadook" is a fictional bedtime story character that turned out to be a haunting reality for a mother and her disturbed son. The film comes out on Nov. 28 -- a little later, but still November. Don't leave your children, though.
4. "Saw"
Yes -- it's coming back. Hailed by the Guinness Book of World Records as the ''Most Successful Horror Franchise'' of all time, Lionsgate will be celebrating its 10th anniversary in a form of theatrical release. The gore pilot film comes out on Oct. 31, said Movie Insider. No word, it's classic.
5. "Exists"
If waiting cannot be tolerated, better see "Exists," which began showing on Oct. 24. What seemed to be a fun summer vacation turned out otherwise for five friends, who eventually found themselves haunted by a creature seeking revenge. The film is rated R, wrote New York Times. Invite your friends to see this!
6. "It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown"
Alright kids, we know this one's really meant for you. Airing on Oct. 30 at 8 p.m. on ABC, Today reported that the holiday classic is a one-hour special treat. Linus, Charlie Brown, Lucy and Snoopy will be back!
7. "31 Days of Halloween"
Okay, this isn't a single movie, but a TV marathon. Thanks to SyFy, viewers can enjoy a month-long treat at home. Better be quick though, as this already began on Oct 1! The rest will be shown, according to Halloween Movies on TV:
Oct. 29:
"Wrong Turn 5: Bloodlines" -- 2:00 a.m.
Oct. 30:
"Texas Chainsaw Massacre" (different versions) -- 5:00 p.m. / 9:10 pm. / 11:10 p.m.
Oct. 31:
"Saw VII" -- 1:10 a.m.
"Hostel: Part II" -- 10:00 a.m.
"30 Days of Night" -- 12:00 p.m.
"Texas Chainsaw Massacre" (2003) -- 2;30 p.m.
"Halloween II" (2009) -- 4:30 pm. / 2:00 a.m.
8. "Paranormal Activity 4"
The title speaks for it: it's everything beyond normal. Reel Life With Jane noted the film streaming on Netflix. You're never alone.
9. "The Nightmare Before Christmas"
Also streaming on Netflix, Uproxx reported that the movie remains to have a strong cult following. Goths would love this one. Santa Claus being kidnapped is just cool, perhaps.
10. "Art of the Devil"
Hailing from Thailand, the trilogy was initially released in 2004. The story chronicled the life of a witch who has mastered -- well, you guessed it -- the art of the devil! Perfect for Halloween! Check it out on Rotten Tomatoes.
Before you get going, might as well know where Halloween came from first! You're in for a surprise.
