China will take on Indonesia in the AFC Asian Cup 2015 qualifiers Friday.
The two sides drew 1-1 in Indonesia in the most recent game. However, the draw was unsatisfactory for the Chinese who criticized their team's performance.
"Before the match, players were conceited, and wasted a handful of chances during the match," The Dalian Evening News is quoted as saying, according to the Global Times. "That made Indonesia perform like Thailand after equalizing the score. If it weren't for Zeng Cheng [the Chinese goalkeeper], China could have been defeated."
"What is the most disappointing is that the team looked nothing like the one during the earlier friendly matches. Are the 'kings of the friendlies' back again?" the Bandao News was quoted as saying.
China currently sits in second place in the group with four points but it only holds a one point advantage on Iraq. China opened its tournament with a 2-1 loss against Saudi Arabia before taking down Iraq 1-0 in a last minute goal from Yu Dabao.
Indonesia lost 1-0 against Iraq in the opening game before being defeated 2-1 at home against Saudi Arabia.
Prediction: China will be home and will look to improve its form. A win would potentially keep them only point ahead of Iraq if the latter team wins. However, Iraq is in Saudi Arabia and could potentially lose. If this scenario played out, and China won, then it would hold a four-point lead over Iraq with two games left to play.
Start Time: Kick-off gets underway at 6 a.m. EST.
The match will not be broadcast in the United States or online.
