Citizens of Panem may now secure their slots to witness the second rebellion in full circle on Nov 21.
For the uninitiated, "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1" is releasing advance tickets for the movie's premiere. Variety reported that tickets are out on Wednesday, 9 a.m. PT (12 noon ET) at various platforms such as Fandango.
Fandango will be reaping -- selecting, so to speak -- one lucky ticket buyer to attend the film's world premiere in London on Nov. 10. According to BWW, the victor will come from the pool of buyers in first 24 hours of the tickets' sale. Think Cornucopia: prospects aiming to win the London trip will have to purchase tickets ahead over the others.
In addition, all buyers in the first 24 hours will get a VUDU free movie download of the "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire."
MLive also reported a marathon of the franchise's three films on Nov. 20 at participating Celebration! Cinema theaters in Michigan. Tickets will also be sold in advance on Oct. 29 nationwide.
The marathon will begin with "The Hunger Games" at 2 p.m., followed by "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire" at 5 p.m. "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1" culminates the marathon, beginning at 8 p.m. Tickets retail for $20 with an additional lanyard.
Jennifer Lawrence has been featured in Empire's December 2014 issue, sporting her heroic Mockingjay attire. The magazine will be released on Oct. 30.
Meanwhile, a promotional YouTube channel, CapitolTV, has announced a 5-episode web series featuring Panem's industries, particularly that of Districts 2 (Masonry), 5 (Power), 6 (Transportation), 8 (Textiles) and 9 (Grain).
"The Hunger Games" is set in the post-apocalyptic country of Panem, the geographical region once known as North America. In the Dark Days, thirteen outlying districts rebelled against the country's Capitol, resulting in massive destruction of lives and properties.
The Capitol won and District 13 was obliterated. The remaining districts' freedom came at a price. It was then decreed that each year, one young man and woman between the ages of 12 and 18 will be reaped in each district -- to fight in a nationally-televised reality massacre show known as "The Hunger Games." Out of 24 tributes, a lone victor shall remain alive in the arena.
Lionsgate's "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1" stars Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Sam Claflin, Jena Malone, Woody Harrelson, Elizabeth Banks, newcomer Julianne Moore, the late Philip Seymour Hoffman, Jeffrey Wright, Stanley Tucci, Donald Sutherland, Toby Jones and Patina Miller.
