"The Spider" might be looking once more to plant a web of destruction in the mixed martial arts arena, as news reports surface that he is set to come back next year.

Anderson Silva, who once dominated the UFC, is reportedly back in shape after a gruesome tibia and fibula fracture about a year ago, Breathecast said. He is already in Rio de Janeiro to train for UFC 183 for his comeback against Nick Diaz scheduled on Jan. 31 in Las Vegas, intent on taking his spot back.

The leg break, after a Chris Weidman check on his kick, is a well-documented event. Many thought it would end his career.

However, Silva has continuously exceeded expectations on the way to recovery. He had subjected himself to rigorous training while away, under the watchful eyes of his medical team, Breathecast added.

Deal with UFC

The Bleacher Report further explained that the former middleweight champion said yes to a 15-fight deal on Thursday, after having dinner with Dana White and Lorenzo Fertitta, UFC president and CEO, in Rio de Janeiro.

"I had seven fights on my contract [after the upcoming fight with Diaz]. I met Lorenzo and Dana on Thursday and that contract was canceled," Silva told Combate, per MMA Fighting. "We signed for another 15 fights... To make Dana crazy, I signed for 15 more fights. And to make my family crazy, too."

MMA Frenzy explained that after his injury in late-2013, his second defeat to Weidman, some members of his family had told him to retire. Prior to his losses, he had a 17-fight win streak.

Skeptics will come out to question the 39-year-old's decision, the Bleacher Report predicted. However, it also said, the latest contract will most likely secure Silva a UFC retirement.

If you are worrying if he can last 15 more games, MMA Frenzy assured that if his comeback does not go well, he can withdraw. "He won't necessarily fight 15 more times. If Silva were to fight 3 times a year, which is kind of pushing it, he wouldn't complete the deal until he's 45."

Davis vs Silva: Will it ever happen?

Silva is still a target among fellow fighters, with Phil Davis willing to face him.

The UFC light heavyweight contender won over Glover Teixeira at UFC 179: "Aldo vs. Mendes 2" in Rio de Janeiro, MMA Mania reported. After being declared the winner, Davis grabbed the mic and said: "I've beaten a lot of Brazilians and there's one Brazilian guy I'd like to face and that's Silva."

At the post-fight press conference, he said: "All the questions around the open workout were centered around me being the 'Brazilian Killer.' I don't know if I'd call myself a killer, but at the same time, that would complete my trifecta of Brazilian fighters. One of the absolute best Brazilian fighters, and one of the absolute best fighters there is. Why not? He's an amazing fighter," as transcribed by MMA Junkie.

Let's see if that pans out.
