Actor Hugh Jackman has an advice for everyone -- wear sunscreen.

The "X-Men" actor has recently been diagnosed and treated for skin cancer for the third time in just under a year, reported E! Online. Fortunately, his representatives revealed that Jackman is currently recuperating and is "all good" now.

The 46-year-old Australian hunk was previously treated for basal cell carcinoma on Nov. 2013 followed by a second treatment on May this year. His disease is a slow-growing form of skin cancer and is curable if treated in its early stages, according to E! Online.

"So just to be clear, it is skin cancer," Jackman tells E! Online after his second treatment. "It's a basal cell carcinoma, which of all the skin cancers is the most minor," he adds.

The actor is quick to reassure concerned fans of his condition. He added, "But you do need to take care of it immediately because it's growing," as cited by E! Online.

In a report by Fox News, Jackman stated that he is still optimistic about his condition, and he is now taking the precautionary measures to help himself get rid of the disease.

"I'm realistic about the future and it's more than likely that I'll have at least one more but probably many more, which is not uncommon for an Aussie particularly from English stock growing up in Australia where I don't remember ever being told to put sunscreen on," the actor told Fox News.

"But the beauty of this is it's all preventable, it's just about getting proper check-ups. I can be typical man, a little lazy, I couldn't be bothered and now I'm not lazy at all," Jackman added.

Learning of his lessons, the actor further told E! Online that people should give attention and proper care to their skin by applying sunscreen regularly.

"Wear sunscreen! Don't be like me as a kid. Trust me, wear sunscreen," Jackman told E! Online. "It doesn't matter who you are, get checkups," the actor concluded.

Jackman has been married to Australian actress Deborra Lee-Furness since 1996, with two children named Oscar, 14, and Ava Eliot, 9.

He has actively been informing people about cancer too, it seems. CBS News reported that the actor participated in the Crotch Grab Challenge to raise awareness for testicular cancer.

Of course, his fame as one of Hollywood's A-listers play a great role in terms of raising awareness for the silent killer. One of the actor's critically acclaimed roles is his portrayal of Jean Val Jean in the film adaptation of "Les Miserables." His Wolverine character is also a fan favorite in the "X-Men" movie franchise.

Jackman's latest project is the upcoming film "Chappie" set to be released on March 2015. He will also appear as the pirate Blackbeard in the Neverland-inspired movie "Pan" out on July 2015, according to CBS News.
