What could be more exciting for comic book fans than witness this generation's superheroes unite in a single storyline?

"Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice" answers that call -- it has been confirmed to premiere on March 25, 2016. The film's cast is known; its trailer is speculated to come out this fall. Sources told Batman-on-Film.com that a teaser is "complete and ready to go," hinting that it can be featured in a November- or December-slated movie.

While the outlet is uncertain where the trailer may be attached, Warner Bros.' sister company New Line Cinemas is releasing "The Hobbit: The Battle of The Five Armies" on Dec. 17. This seems to be the closest thing to temporarily satisfy the craving of Batman and Superman's fanbase.

If the speculation comes true, the teaser would be ahead of the release date by 15 long months. How Warner Bros. would fill in the gap is definitely unknown as of the moment.

But what seems to be the more important issue lies not on the alleged trailer but on its cast. Reportedly, Batman is set to be the focus of the upcoming franchise. Insiders additionally told Batman-on-Film that the 2016 movie is "Batman heavy."

On the obvious note, Batman's name is first in the title -- which could mean he's the protagonist, the priority and the parcel of the picture.

Cinema Blend reported the events in San Diego Comic-Con where Batman and his armor were given more focus, while Superman got less airtime. The film is also assumed to be "anti-Superman."

Most importantly, the outlet cited Ben Affleck to participate in more interviews than Henry Cavill.

Is the supposed 50-50 fandom share of both superheroes affected?

Not quite, because Batman just appears to be more popular. HNGN noted Ben Affleck's interview with Josh Horowitz on MTV News, where the actor mentioned director Zack Snyder.

Affleck commented, "I will say that I think Zack was heavily influenced by that ['The Dark Knight Returns']."

Furthermore, Affleck believed everyone else was just like Zack. "I think everyone's heavily influenced by that. It's the seminal work, right? I don't think there's any of these [Batman movies] that have been made without drawing from that book because it's so good. And I think if you're smart, you steal from the best," he said.

What does this rumor entail for Superman fans?

Nobody knows until the movie -- or the trailer at least -- comes out.

Cast of "Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice" include Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Gal Gadot, Amy Adams and Diane Lane, wrote Movie Pilot.
