After breaking his leg in a scrimmage with the national team on Aug. 1, Paul George can now do jumpers.
Nursing a right-leg injury that would normally take 36 weeks to heal, Fox Sports noted, George was unexpectedly seen only slightly limping at an Indiana Pacers media day in September. On Oct. 20, or just 11 weeks after the unfortunate incident, he can already do this:
Fans and analysts did not expect George to go back in the NBA action for the upcoming season but that healing power--which Fox Sports calls "Wolverine-like"--makes you think otherwise.
The forward went through surgery on his open tibia-fibula fracture only in August, a day after he was injured, but George already removed his walking boot weeks ago, reported Vigilant Sports.
As seen in the footage above by Vigilant Sports, he was amazingly "moving around loosely and comfortably."
"[His] spirits are great... He's encouraged; he's optimistic that he's going to try to get back as soon as possible. He's around the team a lot being a contributor and being a smiling face and contributing to our culture," head coach Frank Vogel told Vigilant Sports in an earlier report.
So whether or not he'll be back on court is a legitimate question.
CBS Sports observed that George is not yet bending his knees or elevating fully which means he will miss the action in the beginning of the NBA season.
However, he is not ruling out playing for the Pacers in the Playoffs. In an exclusive interview with NBA, he said, "I've talked to all the guys and said, 'Man, you guys have to get in the playoffs. That's the best chance I've got of coming back and playing this year.' I've already got it in mind that I could miss this whole year. I'm come to peace with that, but I'd love to be able to come back and play again."
In the last season George had an average of 21.7 points, 6.8 rebounds and 3.5 assists in 80 games, helping his team go all the way to the finals of the Eastern Conference, Rappler said.
More motivated
A day after he did the jumpers, he posted an Instagram video of himself doing a 1-on-1 game with his dog, King, the Bleacher Report said. That video now has more than 50,000 likes.
"Now everything is starting to come back for me. I'm feeling great. I've been cleared to be in the weight room and work out. That's been keeping me positive and sane," he was quoted as saying by NBA.
Look at that injury he's bounced back from below:
The Pacers will play against the Philadelphia 76ers at home on Oct. 29 to open the regular season.
