The initial announcement of the Apple iOS 8 a month ago had users wondering a jailbreak for the OS would be available to the public, and it's still nowhere to be found.
Gotta Be Mobile reported that speculations about the jailbreak have already started ever since the new operating system was released. Even Reddit, which Gotta Be Mobile mentioned in the article, is unusually quiet despite its jailbreak hype over Apple's operating systems in the past.
"Currently, the only hints that we have that an iOS 8 jailbreak is coming this fall is from Pangu's Weibo page, where it teased that it plans to release an iOS 8 jailbreak at some point during the fall.
"Pangu was responsible for releasing the iOS 7.1.2 jailbreak that is still standing currently, and many users are still running iOS 7 just to have the ability to be jailbroken," Gotta Be Mobile said.
International Business Times Australia stated that China's Pangu jailbreak is currently in the works, and Redditor grapplerone claims that the crack for the latest Apple OS will take a little longer.
"While Pangu from China has earlier indicated that the work to open up iOS 8 is already underway, Redditor grapplerone is not buying the suggestion that Apple's latest mobile operating system will be cracked in a matter of few weeks or months," according to International Business Times Australia.
Like Pangu, Evad3rs also stated that they cannot release a jailbreak in the near future. Evad3rs is also another popular group involved in developing the much-awaited tool.
"Grapplerone argued that 'it's a waste of developers' time to create a jailbreak for a new iOS before Apple has their new version working properly.' True enough, iOS 8 in its present state remains plagued by bugs and glitches so jailbreaking it will achieve nothing," International Business Times Australia stated.
"The statement echoes the previously aired logic that the Evad3rs or Pangu would only finalise their works once iOS 8 has reached a more stable though not perfect status," the report adds.
International Business Times Australia said that the earliest iOS jailbreak release would probably happen on December 2014, "which is around the same time that Team Evad3rs has rolled out Evasi0n7 in 2013 -- that is if the famed hacking group will beat Pangu to the jailbreak race," the report concluded.
