"American Horror Story: Freak Show" has been creeping out viewers ever since its pilot aired, and it's only just starting. According to Inquisitr, the show would get ever scarier in the upcoming episode as it will feature the legend of Edward Mordrake, a two-faced man in the 19th century whose existence may or may not be true.
The two-episode Halloween special will air on October 22 and 29 will be titled "Edward Mordrake Parts I and II." It will center on Mordrake and the show's freaks fearing that performing on Halloween night will summon the madman's spirit and drag them all down to hell, Ecumenical News reported.
However, Ethel Mars, played by Jessica Lange, might be responsible for summoning Mordrake.
"Well in 'American Horror Story' what we like to do is tackle horror myths and Edward Mordrake is an amazing myth," according to show creator Ryan Murphy, as quoted by Inquisitr.
"There are some people who say it's real and there are photos online that purport to be autopsy photos and there are other people who say it's not. It's exploring the story of the Victorian era madman who reportedly was born with another face on the back of his head that would whisper and force the good part of him to do horrible, evil things," Murphy adds in the report.
According to Ecumenical News, legend says that Mordrake took his own life when he was 23 years old because doctors wouldn't perform surgeries on him to remove his "demon face."
Inquisitr reports that "Hunger Games" star Wes Bentley will play the revengeful Mordrake in the Halloween episode and is said to have tormented Kathy Bates' character, the bearded lady, in the past.
Twisty the Clown, another urban legend on the TV show, will also get a 15-minute backstory on the next episode that will explore his origin and explain how he lost his jaw, said Inquisitr.
The upcoming episodes will also feature Dandy's friendship with the bloodthirsty clown.
Conjoined twins Bette and Dot, both played by Sarah Paulson, might also be undergoing surgery to get separated. Emma Roberts, who plays a fortune teller on the show, and Denis O'Hare, will also appear as con-artists. According to Inquisitr, "Denis O'Hare's character will have an astonishing physical attribute: a 13-inch penis."
