Wattpad has become a launching platform for aspiring writers from all walks of life, just ask Anna Todd, author of "After", a One Direction fanfiction which will have its film adaptation via Paramount Pictures.

But it seems the odds are not entirely in Todd's favor.

According to Mstarz, Directioners were turned off at the thought of putting Harry Styles, allegedly in a bad image, in the anticipated film, calling Todd's depiction of Styles "abusive." A lot of One Directioners took to Twitter to post their sentiments, and #SuspendAnnaTodd surfaced.

A user wrote, "Y' know, @imaginator1dx [Anna Todd] is literally ruining lives bc girls are out here thinking abusive men make the perfect boyfriends."

"I think it's so sick that Anna promotes 'After' to her much younger readers. They shouldn't be reading such raunchy content," another commented.

Meanwhile, someone preferred, "I'd take our flawless, big hearted, caring, cupcake Harry over a punk, possessive, 'After' Harry ANYDAY."

"After" chronicles the life of Tessa Young, an 18-year-old college girl. Todd described her as someone living a simple life, has excellent grades and is in love with an "excellent boyfriend." This is her situation until she met Harry, whom Todd has portrayed to be "rude... with too many tattoos and piercings who shatters her plans."

The sequel "After 2" begins with Chapter 100 and proves to be an obvious sequel. The story opens with Harry and Tessa's love affair, and Todd teased, "[Their relationship] will be tested in ways she never expected, but he knew of all along."

More serious stuff comes in "After 3" as the characters are put in conflict with "family secrets, deep betrayals and career opportunities."

As of the moment, "After" has garnered 263,051,961 reads. "After 2" falls behind with 245,933,367. Finally, "After 3" has over half a billion views -- 562,483,622 reads to be exact.

In total, the title has hit over a billion views. The numbers may continue to grow.

Paramount has not announced the movie's release date yet.
