Nike's revamped LeBron James shoes will give you the "lifestyle" of the King even when you're outside the basketball court, when it finally hits stores.
The highly stylish Nike Lebron 12 Lifestyle will be available on Oct. 17 at 8 a.m. EDT online and on select Nike Sportswear retailers for $130, Nike announced on its website.
First spotted rocked by James himself in the LeBron 12 launch last month, the new pair represents the King as he seeks solitude off the court to prepare himself for another series of games and the circus that surrounds it, Foot Locker.com said.
Look at it during its launch last month in the Instagram photo (below) and note the 181,000 likes.
User peacock55 commented on the post: "Move over Christian Louboutin here comes LeBron's. Nice LJ." User manlaib told a friend: "Uou owe me this [sic] shoes."
Taking cues from high-end fashion footwear, the materials unmistakably come off posh -- even if the type of shoe is not your first option for fine-dining or black-tie events, you might just think twice.
The first release sports black patent leather on the toe box and synthetic leather upper and pyramid molds, with challenge red accents -- the same as the shoes James wore in September, said Foot Locker.com.
"The newest edition to the LeBron NSW Lifestyle line is, perhaps, the boldest yet," the website explained. "A leather upper is decorated with pyramid-like studs along the outer and inner side panels while the toe is smooth leather. Challenge red accents take care of the lace loops, tongue branding, and heel tag, as well as the outsole."
The intricate details—gold aglets and red hues on the translucent sole and Flywire -- put LeBron 12 Lifestyle to the level of the luxury shoes of French designer Christian Louboutin, Sneaker Mob agreed to the tweet above.
It added: "Lifestyle sneakers are generally a lot less appealing than the on-court sneakers they are designed after, but with this high-end look, LeBron might've just changed the game."
Completing the design is a woven heel pull-tab that has James' signature and the lion crest, which carries the basketball players common message, "Protect me from myself," Nike said.
While some of the fans were excited for the release of the new shoes, others took to social media their frustration about the design. User Jono Smith (@jsmithtexas1) tweeted the official account of Nike.com (@nikestore): "Lol this is no Jordan Shine. Garbage."
Shine is a lifestyle execution by Nike's Jordan Brand subsidiary, after basketball legend Michael Jordan. It is pegged at $400. On the other hand, the James shoes are $130 a pair, available in Nike stores on Oct. 17 and in Foot Locker stores Oct. 18.
The LeBron shoe line has been one of the marking factors of the basketball star since he signed a 7-year contract with Nike worth $90 million in 2003. His first signature pair of shoes, according to al.com, was the Nike Air Zoon Generation.
