Ian Somerhalder and current flame Nikki Reed's intense PDA on the set of "The Vampire Diaries" is apparently putting Nina Dobrev on edge, reported HollywoodLife.

Rumor has it that things have remained tense and awkward around former couple, Somerhalder and Dobrev, even after months of splitting up. The two are reportedly not on speaking terms.

Somerhalder's flaunting of his relationship with Reed is disturbing for Dobrev, and it's also raising a lot of drama, it seems. The producers of the show allegedly asked Somerhalder to stop bringing Reed to the set, in fear of losing Dobrev, who is one of the major characters on the CW show, reported International Business Times.

"Nina Dobrev's contract finishes at the end of 'The Vampire Diaries' (TVD) Season 6 and the actress has reportedly not signed anything beyond that," International Business Times added. However, these are all circulating rumors and there has been no confirmation on Dobrev's camp yet on whether or not she would leave the show.

"This is exactly why producers actually tried to forbid Nina and Ian from dating. They were worried something like this would happen," said Hollywood Life. "Ian and Nina tried to hide their relationship for so long because they were very strictly forbidden from that, but obviously they did go there. Exactly what they promised wouldn't happen, has happened, and it's getting in the way of their work."

Somerhalder and Dobrev started out as friends and then dated for three years before finally breaking up on May 2013. Their characters on the show, Damon Salvatore and Elena Gilbert, are also one of the major romantic couples on "The Vampire Diaries."

"We've learned that Ian's ex and co-star, Nina Dobrev, is so upset over the fact that she has to witness their public displays of affection on a regular basis, and he's oblivious to any of it," according to the same report from HollywoodLife. "The general feeling is that Ian is being very insensitive about this, and that's putting it nicely," the report adds.

Somerhalder and Reed were first spotted shopping together on July 2014. Since then, the relationship has been going strong and much publicized on both of the two's social media accounts.

Dobrev, however, was linked to various actors, among which are Orlando Bloom, Benjamin McKenzie, Derek Theler, Liam Hemsworth, and even her "TVD" co-star Michael Trevino. The actress hasn't made any confirmation regarding these dating rumors, and even treated it as a joke, saying that it's all "tabloid silliness," according to another report from International Business Times.
