iPhone 5s Release Date Availability: Apple Inc. (AAPL) Enlists Taiwanese Manufacturer for Increased iPhone Production

As Apple's latest smartphones continue to launch in new countries. The Cupertino-based company may be seeking new manufacturers to produces its smartphones.

According to a report by AllThingsD, sources claim Apple enlisted Taiwanese manufacturer Wistron in efforts to increase its iPhone production.

The alleged move to enlist Wistron reportedly comes as Apple wants to prepare for the holiday shopping season. Sources have added that Wistron will start its iPhone production by either this month or December.

Apple's alleged partnership with Wistron would make it the third manufacturer producing iPhones following Foxconn and Pegatron.

Wistron is familiar with producing smartphones as it has built devices for BlackBerry, Nokia and ZTE.

It is unknown if Wistron will produce both iPhone 5c and iPhone 5s smartphones or if only one of the two would be the focus.

According to the Wall Street Journal, Apple has also reached out to Compal Communications to help produce iPad mini tablets for 2014.

The iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c were launched on Sept. 20 across Australia, Canada, China, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, Puerto Rico, Singapore, United Kingdom and United States. The new iPhones have since rolled out in more than 30 countries including Austria, Denmark, Finland, Ireland, Italy, Norway, Portugal, Russia, South Korea, Spain and Taiwan, to name a few.

The new iPhones sold 9 million units during their first weekend of release on Sept. 20. Apple didn't reveal specific numbers for the iPhone 5s or iPhone 5c. Apple hasn't revealed sales figures following the Oct. 25 and Nov. 1 launch dates.
