News has it that Batista will be joining the cast of the upcoming James Bond film.
The wrestler has reportedly been chosen to fill in a casting call for a new villain. Latino Review quoted the ad:
"We are looking to follow in the tradition of JAWS and ODDJOB in finding an iconic baddy.
- Hinx (Male, 30-45)
- Ideally over 6'2". Hinx is the main henchman/assassin. We are looking for an imposing extremely physically fit actor. He has several fights with Bond and will have to have stunt training. He has to drive. We are looking for someone very unusual, possibly from a sports background.
- Height: 180cm-195cm"
It should be noted that the above casting call's link to the rumored "Bond 24" film is not yet confirmed but according to Latino Review, the producers of the said movie are allegedly the ones needing an actor.
The WWE wrestler recently appeared on the big screen as Drax the Destroyer in "Guardians of the Galaxy." According to Screen Rant, Drax is a "silent, physical, green-skinned brute type [of villain], who (in the comic books) died as a human and was later resurrected as, essentially, a biological weapon with one purpose: to hunt down and kill Thanos."
Should the recent casting rumor be true, Batista, also known as David Bautista, could be joining Daniel Craig and Lea Seydoux in the alleged "Bond 24" film.
Last week, Inquisitr reported that Seydoux has been picked as "the new Bond girl."
"Seydoux is said to be expected to join Daniel Craig, Ralph Fiennes, Ben Whishaw, and Naomie Harris in a script reading next month. This indicates that the Paris-born actress could be James Bond's next love interest or a new villain," said the outlet.
Will the actress' acting chops be enough to land her a role previously taken on by the likes of Ursula Andress? The actress set the big screen on fire in 1962's "Dr. No" for her portrayal of the sizzling hot Honey Ryder.
Or, Seydoux could be a scheming villain like Karin Dor's Helga Brandt in the 1967 film "You Only Live Twice."
The actress has already done a good number of films including "Inglorious Basterds", "Robin Hood", "Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol", a French adaptation of "Beauty and the Beast" and "The Grand Budapest Hotel", among many others.
