For the second time, former Nickelodeon child star Amanda Bynes, 28, has been put on psychiatric hold after accusing her father of sexual abuse.
TMZ reported that upon arriving in L.A., the troubled star was guided directly to a treatment facility outside L.A. where doctors placed her on an involuntary psychiatric hold.
"Amanda thought a car service was taking her to The London Hotel where her parents and their attorney were going to meet her. In fact the parents had made arrangements with the car service to take her to a Pasadena hospital instead," wrote the entertainment site.
The star, currently held under a 5150 - used on individuals who may be a danger to themselves or others - can be held between 72 hours to 2 weeks, during which time, a second conservatorship will be sought by her parents.
The move came after Bynes accused her father, Rick, of sexually abusing her. Amanda claimed that he "fondled himself in front of me so many times that I started recording him on my phone in hopes of catching him saying or doing something inappropriate around me so I could get him arrested and put in jail for the rest of his perverted life," quoted US Magazine of the "Easy A" star.
Statement from Amanda's Mother, Lynn Bynes
"I am heartbroken today for my husband of 47 years. Rick has been the best father and husband a family can ask for. He has never abused Amanda or our other children physically or sexually. These accusations are absolutely horrible and could not be further from the truth! These allegations stem from Amanda's mental state at the moment. They have no basis in reality. It saddens me beyond belief that my husband's character could be slandered in such a way," Lynn Bynes's statement sent to E! News via her lawyer, Tamar Arminak, read.
Meanwhile, the former "All That" star has already retracted her claims via Twitter: "My dad never did any of those things The microchip in my brain made me say those things but he's the one that ordered them to microchip me."
"Her parents are a complete emotional wreck," said a source exclusively to HollywoodLife.com. "They are looking for any avenue to save their daughter. It is extremely sad."
Leading up to the psychiatric hold, last month, Bynes was arrested for a second DUI charge and recently caught shoplifting in New York City.
The first time Bynes was placed on a 5150 was in 2013 when she exhibited the same erratic behavior. The actress spent six months in rehab and was placed on a conservatorship led by her mother, which was lifted only weeks earlier.
