"Transformers" actor Shia LaBeouf is really getting into character for his upcoming flick "Fury." According to co-star Logan Lerman, the embattled actor has gone to extreme lengths to sell his role in the new film.

In an interview with British GQ, per E! News, Lerman revealed how LaBeouf cut his own face to make his war wounds more believable.

"We were in makeup and they were putting cuts on Shia and I said, 'Yeah, yeah, it looks good,'" recalled Lerman. But LaBeouf wasn't satisfied.

He continued, "And Shia was like, 'No, it doesn't look real.' Then he walks out into the hallway and says, 'Hey man, wanna see something fun? Check this out...' and he takes out a knife and cuts his face. For the whole movie he kept opening these cuts on his face. That's all real."

Lerman "f--king love it!" and went on to say that's not all that LaBeouf did. The 28-year-old actor also went to the dentist to have a tooth pulled out and to solidify the tale, LaBeouf himself tweeted a photo of his commitment.

"WHEN YOU GET A ROLE TO SINK YOUR TEETH INTO - DO IT #FURY," captioned the celebrity.

It was reported earlier this year that LeBeouf removed a tooth and refused to bathe in order to get into character for the war-set flick.

The Guardian noted reports that the drastic in-character moves were unappreciated by cast and crew member and the actor was billeted in a bed and breakfast, away from the rest of the team.

Co-star Lerman had high praises for his fellow actor's presence in production. "He really spent every moment on that set. He's the guy operating the turret in every shot, even when you don't need to be in there as an actor. You know, you can have somebody else inside. But he was there, for every shot," commented Lerman of the "Nymphomaniac" star.

Who else did Shia impress? None other than newlywed Brad Pitt.

"Oh, I love this boy," quoted E! News of Pitt who was speaking to the magazine. "He's one of the best actors I've ever seen. He's full-on commitment, man. He's living it like no one else, let me tell you. I've been fortunate to work with a lot of great actors. He's one of the best I've seen."

Catch the movie when it's released later this month.
