All eyes are on the most popular TV character today, Rick Grimes, as AMC's "The Walking Dead" season 5 is set to premiere on October 12.

Throughout all four seasons of the hit show, actor Andrew Lincoln's character has been the core of story. But will the fifth run of the show still be centering on the same key character?

Here are six exciting things to look forward to, with some courtesy of Zap2It..

1. The fifth season's first episode would answer major questions about the Terminans. All the details about what motivates them and their lifestyle characteristics are expected to be tackled within the episode's introduction.

2. If you are not a fan of extreme gore, then the first episode of season five is not for you. Tons of zombies are expected with lots of shooting spree on the side. But of course, there are many weeping moments too, which will surely make any fan's heart melt.

3. Carol Peletier, portrayed by Melissa McBride, has a lot of scenes in the season five premiere of the zombie hit television series. All Carol fans of the show will definitely agree she owns this one.

4. Fans will get to have a glimpse of someone everyone must have missed for a long time in the show, only if you'd keep watching after the first episode's credits.

5. Rick and the rest of the gang will run away from Terminus and head for Washington, D.C. If it would be based on a casting call news, fans can expect some new characters to be introduced, to make it consistent with the story's comic version.

6. With Rick stepping up like never before, "The Walking Dead" season 5 episode 1 could be one of the most ambitious chapters that the show will embark on as they focus on bringing more weight to the emotional aspect of the story.

Meanwhile, major speculations lead to more spoilers starting off with the titles of the succeeding episodes of the fifth season. If the premiere episode is called "No Sanctuary," episode 2 and 3 will be called "Strangers" and "Four Walls and a Roof" respectively, states Spoiler TV.

With several days more before the actual release of the show's premiere episode, here are two new trailers to satisfy the fans' hunger for "The Walking Dead." Both feature the song "The Troubles" by U2 feat. Lykke Li.
