With Halloween season on the horizon, most people are already looking for spooky destinations to head to.
Here are 10 places in the United States which ought to be visited for this year's Halloween celebration.
1. The 13th Gate
This scary attraction in Baton Rogue, LA, will have visitors screaming in a huge 40,000-square foot horror house. All the performers and other special effects look and feel creepingly real since the crew are all trained in Hollywood.
2. Haunted Hoochie at Dead Acres
Located in Pataskala, Ohio, this destination has been deemed as super frightening. Unlike other horror houses, visitors should prepare to be touched or shoved. Can anything else be scarier than that?
3. McKamey Manor
This haunted house attraction in San Diego is strictly for 21 years old and above individuals only. This is because extreme physical contact could happen inside--involving fake blood!
4. Queen Mary's Dark Harbor
Breaking away from the usual haunted houses is this haunted ship. It offers tours which feature new attractions including a brand new ride with a not-so-friendly name of Sinister Swings.
5. Halloween Horror Nights of Universal Studios
Universal Orlando has set up haunted houses based on everyone's favorite horror shows and movies. One house even lets guests go face to face with the famed killer character Michael Myers.
6. Bennett's Curse
This spooky spectacle has been featured in the list of Travel Channel for America's Scariest Halloween Attractions due to the use of cutting edge special effects in order to scare visitors. It is one of the leading scary attractions in the Mid Atlantic area of the country.
7. Fright Dome
This Las Vegas-based theme park measures a whopping five acres and includes 25 rides, four scare zones, and numerous live shows. Hate clowns? Then there's a lot to expect here.
8. Erebus Haunted Attraction
This 4-story horror attraction is situated in Pontiac, MI. It used to hold the Guinness World Record for being the biggest haunted house in the United States.
9. Blackout
This New York and LA-based horror house is also restricted to those who are 18 years old and above. Previous visitors of the site attest to being pushed around and even forced to put several things inside their mouths. It's like watching an "American Horror Story" episode come to life.
10. Trans-Allegheny Lunatic Asylum
Visitors are toured in the haunted asylum's halls where spirits are believed to still roam. Moreover, it allows participants to get into a zombie paintball activity too!
