This week's Monday Night Raw could be the wildest in history, Hollywood Life said, because Dwayne Johnson, aka The Rock, showed up at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York, for a showcase of his unaging skill and charisma.
The Rock's bit performance was an instant classic, Examiner said. Rusev was summoning the Big Show so that they could fight after several weeks of feuding, it reported, explaining that fans were expecting that after the WWE teased that it would happen.
The "Russian," of course accompanied by valet Lana, was saying Russia was the best country in the world as the crowd chanted "USA! USA! USA!" in disagreement.
Out of nowhere, The Rock emerged to loud cheering, the Hollywood Life report said. He wore a black tank top with "JUST BRING IT" printed on it.
After processing what lay before them, the crowd managed to scream Johnson's famous line with him--"Can you smell what The Rock is cookin?"
He remarked that Lana looked like a Soviet street walker and that Rusev's breath smelled bad, the Examiner said. He then slapped Rusev before finally leaving. The megastar even quoted rapper Jay Z in his speech and paid homage to Derek Jeter, Hollywood Life added.
According to the Examiner, it was no surprise that The Rock showed up at WWE Monday Night Raw, because before the show went live, the rumor was on social media.
The Inquisitr is among the first to pick up on the rumor after Johnson was spotted in New York. It said he had not been on the WWE ring since WrestleMania XXX at the Superdome in New Orleans, where he was with Hulk Hogan and Stone Cold Steve Austin to open the show.
According to the Hollywood Life, The Rock flew to New York just for the Monday night appearance. After his segment, he was spotted hugging fans and posing for selfies.
There are still no details as to whether The Rock's appearance was for one night only or if it is going to last for weeks, but the Examiner said it would be a wise decision for the WWE to enlist him while Roman Reigns, Daniel Bryan and Wade Barrett are recovering from injury.
Signing the megastar up for a few months would electrify Brock Lesnar's stint as a part-timer, the Inquisitr said, addressing rumors that Johnson is being scheduled for a match with the WWE World Heavyweight Champion.
That faceoff would be a rematch 12 years in the making, considering that Lesnar unseated The Rock in their last meeting at SummerSlam way back in 2002, the Inquisitr said.
