The Latina singer is set to work under the direction of Barry Levinson for the upcoming FBI drama's pilot episode.

Deadline reported that the director is thrilled at the thought of working with the "Booty" singer.

"It's an exciting project to be working on with Jennifer," Levinson was quoted by Deadline as saying.

"Adi has written a police drama that gets into the fascinating dirt behind law enforcement with a female character we haven't really seen before," he added.

Levinson is referring to Adi Hasak, who penned "From Paris With Love."

According to Los Angeles Times, "Shades of Blue" revolves around the character Harlee McCord (Jennifer Lopez) who is a single mother and an FBI agent.

Lopez' character has "become compromised by her colleagues - all of whom also pitch in to help her raise her daughter - and finds herself faced with the moral dilemma of working against her cop brothers in order to redeem herself," Entertainment Weekly quoted the show's press release.

Aside from taking on the lead role in the upcoming 13-episode NBC TV series, Lopez will also be an executive producer of the show via her Nuyorican Productions, said Deadline. The outlet said that "American Idol" host Ryan Seacrest will also executively produce the film through Ryan Seacrest Productions.

It seems that the Latina singer-actress is busy with projects left and right. She recently made headlines for her "The Boy Next Door" movie with Ryan Guzman which is set for a Jan. 2015 release in the United States.

Lopez also made news recently when her ex-boyfriend, Sean "P. Diddy" Combs, also known as Puff Daddy, hailed her behind as something "special."

The rapper told Access Hollywood:

"I mean, [her booty] is great. It's a work of art...It's something that will go down in history, for real it will.

"But also her talent, her drive, her determination.

"She will never give up. She's a great friend of mine, always will be my friend, and I mean [her butt] is just incredible, man. That thing is just you know...

"No offense to Kim and Kanye...but that thing right there is something special."

Special indeed but what does Lopez' latest rumored beau think? People is reporting that the singer and "Dancing With the Stars" pro Maksim Chmerkovskiy are having a blast together.

"Yes, she's great, I have fun. And while other names are out there... I am not a scumbag," he said during the interview.

"I am a hopeless romantic who falls in lust and gets in trouble," he revealed.
