12 years ago Sabrina Allen, a Texas girl, was abducted from her family. On Tuesday morning she was found alive and safe in Mexico

Allen was last seen by her father, Greg Allen, in 2002. She was four years old. Allen was taken by her mother, Dara Llorens, who lost custody of the child after she and and Greg Allen divorced on April 21, 2002.

Sabrina was abducted during an unsupervised visit with her mother during which Llorens then took her daughter to Mexico, per the local authorities. They were actually found in 2003 in Mexico City, but managed to escape capture afterwards.

Sabrina is now 17 years old. Llorens was arrested during a stealth operation conducted by the Mexican Federal Authority, FBI and U.S. Marshals in Estafeta, Tlaxcala, a city 60 miles South of Mexico City, where they found the pair.

Before she could be reunited with her father, Sabrina was undergoing medical evaluation at an undisclosed location. Greg, who has been remarried for 10 years and time children with his second wife, is not certain when he will be meeting with his daughter.

"She doesn't want to see me, she doesn't want to see my family, so we are respecting those wishes," he told reporters at an Austin press conference, per USA Today. He believes that his ex-wife has manipulated his daughter's opinion of him and turned Sabrina against him. "I understand she's been subjected to intense parental alienation. We have a long road ahead of us."

In the two decades that Sabrina has been missing, Greg has not stopped looking for her. "You know, I've spent a lot of time traveling in Mexico and had a lot of help. What happened is, we got lucky," Greg said. "She's home."

Llorens now faces a number of felony charges including aggravated kidnapping, interference with a child custody and unlawful flight to avoid persecution. She is being held in Travis County Jail on the charge of "intentionally and knowingly abducting the child by restraining her so as to interfere substantially with her liberty by moving her from one place to another." Bond was set at $300,000.

It is uncertain when Sabrina will be reunited with Greg. Though Greg said that he intends to give his daughter her space, at the press conference he said that he is going to "ask her if I can give her if I can give her a hug. She's in bad shape is my understanding. I just pray for healing."
