In the wake of Apple's massive iPhone 6 announcement, there is another key date for tech junkies to watch out for. According to Re/Code, Apple will be announcing their latest version of the iPad Air 2, Retina Display iMac and the launching of OSX Yosemite. Initial reports state that the date to watch out for is Oct. 16.

Apple will be discussing in great depths their new iPad Air, but the tech giant will likely hold off on their iPad Pro, which is slated to be the latest and greatest in tablet technology.

It is not yet known when the specific devices will be available for purchase. Based off of Apples previous dealings in recent years iDigital Times speculated that, "since the fourth-gen iPad, Apple has announced the iPad and iPad mini on the third Tuesday of October, with sales starting the following week's Friday. With the iPad announcement reportedly moved up to Thursday, Oct. 16, perhaps the second-gen iPad Air will go on sale starting, Friday, Oct. 24. Though we won't know for sure until Apple unveils the iPad Air 2 and iPad mini 3."

According to a report published by Bloomberg, there is word that the new iPads will be available in gold for the first time. In addition, buyers will also be able to get the new iPads in the usual silver or space grey.

One of the greatest supposed features to make it onto the iPad Air 2 will be Touch ID and a possible boost to 2GB RAM, which will allow users to better utilize the split-screen multitask option. Touch ID is the first step towards making all iDevices equipped with 'purchasing power.' Apple has for years consistently been about making life simpler, and one less item a person has to carry the better.

The iPad Air 2 should also have a better camera, which is always a plus for the current generation of users. The one issue with Apple has always been their cameras, in comparison to Samsung and other mobile device companies. A camera is a key element for any user seeing as how the 'perfect selfie' can make or break you when it comes to the wide world of social media.
