Apple Inc. may be looking to launch more than two iPhones per year starting in 2014, according to an analyst's latest forecast.

Via Apple Insider, Morgan Stanley analyst Katy Huberty revealed that the Cupertino-based organization will release "multiple" iPhones, following conversations with Apple CEO Tim Cook and Chief Financial Officer Peter Oppenheimer.

According to Huberty, the two iPhone debuts are a "thoughtful approach" considered by the Apple executives and similar to a move the Cupertino company made in 2012.

Apple launched two iPads in 2012 featuring the same 9.7-inch screen size. The first was the iPad 3 in early 2012 followed by the iPad with Retina Display (iPad 4) in November that year.

Huberty explained that Apple is prepared for "multiple refreshes per year."

The launches of two new iPads of the same size, however, were not echoed in 2013. Only the iPad Air premiered with its 9.7-inch screen this year.

Within the last two years, Apple has revealed its latest iPhones during the month of September. The iPhone 6 smartphone, although unconfirmed by Apple, could follow the trend of a September debut. Apple, however, could defy expectations by revealing the sixth-generation smartphone earlier in June, which was the month Apple used to debut the iPhone 4 in 2010 and iPhone 3GS in 2009.

For now, Apple is focussed on the iPhone 5c and iPhone 5s, which started its international rollout on Sept. 20 across. Australia, Canada, China, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, Puerto Rico, Singapore, United Kingdom and United States. Apple would launch a second and third rollout on Oct. 25 and then on Nov. 1 for countries such as Colombia, El Salvador, Guatemala, Ireland, Italy, India, Mexico, Russian, Saudi Arabia, Spain, South Korea, Turkey and Taiwan, to name a few.

Apple revealed its two new iPhones sold 9 million units during its first weekend of release on Sept. 20. Apple didn't reveal specific numbers for the iPhone 5s or iPhone 5c. The 9 million units for both phones were 4 million units more than the first-weekend sales of the iPhone 5 in September 2012, which sold 5 million units. Apple hasn't revealed sales figures following the Oct. 25 and Nov. 1 launch dates.
