Self-proclaimed fitness model Brittany Renner said on her Instagram profile that she was "preggers"—and with the help of San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick.

Or at least that's how everyone understood it. Everyone but her, that is.

Renner had already scrapped the now controversial post—captioned "Preggers by @kaepernick7"—after people began posting "He's having a baby" greetings, Complex reported. She then re-posted the same photo, although now with a different, utterly safe caption: "Perfection @kaepernick7."

Just to make sure she is understood this time around, the model known for #FitThickArmy posted something yet again: "Must be a slow news day... Stop believing everything you read!!!"

But she could be alone in her fight.

Kaepernick might have been confused too, TMZ Sports reported, as he supposedly fought back with a rap song that media outfits are taking as a summary of his stand on the matter: "Stop Lyin" by Kevin Gates. He even went on to quote the lyrics, "We just goin' call this my anthem now! Keep trying."

It is now known that Renner didn't mean she was pregnant, Mstarz.com declared, joking that she might have meant that the black-and-white image was so enticing she'd be willing to bear Kaepernick's offspring.

There was a traceable reason that the rumor went viral, said TMZ Sports. Renner posted pictures on her Instagram profile suggesting she and Kaepernick were hanging out at her place, it explained.

According to another Mstarz.com report, Kaepernick was romantically involved with Chanel Iman, Claudia Nelson, Teyana Taylor and college fan Micha Auzenne, but the 26-year-old ladies man does not prefer to put his love life out there.

It also noted that the real score is hazy, only relying on a MediaTakeOut.com report to say that he might have invited her to a game last weekend—and that there might be something between the two.

Heavy.com, meanwhile, cited a January interaction on Twitter. It also alluded to a Terez Owens report that claimed Renner flew to San Francisco after the ESPY Awards, and Kaepernick was close by in some photos.

Hip Hollywood alleged the model's camp for spreading the rumor of a love affair. Kaepernick never claimed Renner was the only one in his life at the moment, it said, adding that it would take more than Renner's posts to make people believe her.

The two possibilities mean one thing to Terez Owens: "Either this chick is telling the truth, or Colin has another crazy one on his hands."

Anyway, if the rumor turns out to be true, the footballer signed a $126-million contract extension with the 49ers in June, Heavy.com noted, which could be a lucrative source for his fatherhood fund.
