Whether it will be called the Nexus 6 or the Nexus X, if the new details per 9to5google.com are to be believed, the newest Google phone will be a technical powerhouse. But note that all of these specifications are strictly rumors until officially confirmed by Google.

It has been speculated for some time that this would be the phone to enter Google into the phablet space and these leaked specs seem to confirm that. The screen of the new Nexus will be 5.92 inches with the body expanding a bit beyond that.  Other than that expect it to be similar in appearance to the previous devices so as to not alienate existing users.

That is not to say that the exterior will be completely the same, though. The leaked specs go on to say that the volume and lock buttons are going to be moved lower on the device, towards the center of its side. This is presumably to assist in efforts of holding the phone with one hand despite the larger form factor. The other main interfaces, including the mic, headphone jack, and SIM card slot are all located in the same place as the new Moto X. The device will also have a familiar aluminum bezel as its exterior.

The internals of the device will also be receiving marked improvement, as one would expect from an smart device upgrade. The display will sport a QHD resolution of 2560 x 1440. This brings up an impressive amount of pixel density at 498 ppi. Just to make sure that it has the energy to handle that much power, the Nexus' is rumored to have a 3,200 mAh battery onboard.

Of course, shutterbugs looking for the next best point-and-shoot tech want to know how the camera stacks up. With a back camera of 13 MP, it is not exactly uncharted territory, but the rumors also say that the phone will have 4K UHD video capabilities come launch. The front camera will apparently feature a 2 MP camera, the same one that graced the front of the 2nd generation Moto X.

Moreover, 3 GB of RAM will go a long way towards making the phone speedy as well as strong, as will the Snapdragon 805 processor. The phone will also have internal flash memory of at least 32 GB. More expansive internal storage models may be revealed in the future, but were not included in the latest leaked information.

The forthcoming Google Nexus 6/X is slated for release in November, with a formal announcement to take place at some time in October.
