As the countdown to "The Walking Dead: Season 5" inches closer, new trailers, posters and interviews are being released to shore up the hype. Conspiracy theories and even betting pools are being constructed to try and guess which character will meet an untimely demise.
The tagline for the new season is "Hunt or be Hunted," which seems to be in line with the previous beliefs that the citizens of Terminus are engaging in cannibalistic behavior.
Andrew Lincoln can be seen in the new trailer telling his comrades to shoot first because if they see you they will do the same. We can only assume that he is referring to the Terminus compound.
A bus crash is also featured in the new trailer, which seemingly portrays a wild season of epic proportions. Already numerous actors from the series have come out and said that this new season will take "The Walking Dead" to a whole new level of blood, gore and explosions.
Norman Reedus, who plays Daryl Dixon, told GQ, "You'd be surprised, the creative ways that they come up with doing that, that you haven't seen before. It's kind of mind-blowing. Just wait till this season; there's some new stuff that's like I never would have thought of. It's pretty hard-core."
Daryl Dixon has been the center of numerous rumors about the characters sexuality. Reedus tells of how former director Frank Darabont wanted Dixon to be gay. Darabont was fired halfway into Season Two before he got the chance to fully dive into Dixon's character.
"I remember Frank, after the first season, we were at a party in L.A. He said, 'I've got an idea for Daryl. He's gay...like, you'll catch him looking at a member of the same sex, but if you mention it to him, he'll just stab you and be like, 'What the f-? He will never admit it.'" Fans love these kinds of characters because they add a whole new level to the show that digs deeper than simply chasing around zombies.
One of the best things about "The Walking Dead" is that by each passing season more is known about the characters. They begin to grow on the viewer, as they witness first hand the trials and tribulations that plague someone living in this post-apocalyptic world.
