Samsung and Apple have traded punches over the last several weeks. Samsung managed to announce its new Galaxy Note 4, Galaxy S5 and Galaxy Edge before Apple could even make the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 plus official. However, Apple in turn was able to take the wind out of that announcement by releasing its pair of smartphones, including its flagship phablet, this Friday. 

Even though the latest Galaxy line of products won't be available until Oct. 17th, Samsung has made one more reveal in attempt to take the wind out of Apple's sails on its big launch day: it will begin taking pre-orders for the Galaxy Note 4 on Friday Sept. 19th, the same day as the iPhone 6 release.

The Galaxy Note 4 is the phone that made the phablet famous with its 5.7-inch quad HD Super AMOLED display. Add in with the fact that it has a 2.7 GHz quad-core processor, 3 GB of RAM, a 16-megapixel camera and the latest version of Android KitKat and it is clear that the Note 4 will be a powerful rival for attention when it comes out in October.

Granted, those who were long ago sold on Apple's aesthetic and design appeal that they are so good at installing into their products probably will not be jumping ship any time soon, but it is a huge show of good faith for the Samsung loyalists.

It is clear that this is something of an effort on Samsung's part to perhaps reach out to those that were perhaps considering skipping out on the Note 4 because of how long it will take for them to get their hands on their new toy. Then again, given the infamous trends of Apple products facing severe supply constraints at their launch and the fact that it may take just as long or even longer to get an iPhone 6 plus, maybe Apple's lead may end up being for naught in the long run.

Samsung also revealed the accessories that will be available with the phone including the familiar Flip Covers (which includes Wallet and Protective varieties), Replacement S Pens and a multitude of new battery pack and charging options.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 4 will be available on Oct. 17th for $299 on-contract. AT&T and Sprint have also announced that it will be available starting at $34.42 and $30 monthly with $0 down, respectively.
