In connection to the murder case of two British backpackers, David Miller and Hannah Witheridge, brothers Christopher and James Ware are now under "police care" and have been asked to remain on the island of Koh Toa, Thailand, where the pair were founded dead Monday morning, reported BBC. 

Police are now awaiting the results of DNA tests to be available Thursday. The British brothers are with Thai police and have been described as "possible suspects" but have not been arrested. 

"We have spoken to two British men but they have not been detained," said Police Col. Kissana, deputy police spokesman via The Guardian. "We cannot rule them out. They were close friends and knew all about the victims. We have got to do whatever it takes to obtain concrete evidence."

He added that six Burmese nationals have also been detained for questioning in connection to the case. 

The brothers were leaving the country via Bangkok International airport when they were stopped by authorities. Police believe that the Ware brothers spent time with both victims while on the island. Christopher believed to have shared a room with Miller.

The semi-naked bodies of David, 24, and Hannah, 23, were found along the beach and autopsies have indicated that Witheridge died from sustained head wounds while Miller suffered deadly force and was drowned. Additionally, injuries on Miller's hand suggest that a struggle may have taken place prior to his demise. 

Police have released grainy CCTV footage which allegedly shows David and Hannah leaving a nightclub together shortly before the murder. Evidence found on Witheridge's hand include a blonde hair, which is currently being tested on, as well as traces of semen, reported The Independent. 

"The results are expected within 24 hours so everything will become clear tomorrow," quoted The AFP news agency of Maj Gen Pornchai Suteerakune, Thailand's chief police forensics officer. "The female victim suffered cuts to her head... while the male was beaten on the head... but water found in his lungs suggests he may have died from drowning."

Sky News also noted that with semen found on the scene, police are looking at the possibility of rape or that Witheridge had sexual relations on the beach prior to death, which is considered taboo in the religiously conservative nation.

Police are currently looking for an Asian man who was also captured on CCTV and is considered a prime suspect.
