Chris Brown is back after months of jail sentence with "X," his sixth studio album which features artists like Ariana Grande, Nicki Minaj, Lil Wayne, Usher, Akon and so much more. Certainly, Breezy has collaborated with the industry's most popular RnB singers to date, but it seems that "X" takes on a general feel of bitterness that echoes throughout its track list.
Under RCA Records, the release date of "X" has undoubtedly been pushed back multiple times, noted Hollywoodlife.com. The same source, in another report, said that Brown worked hard to finish the album--being in the studio "constantly."
Produced by Diplo, the title track "X," was released earlier in August and spun lyrics that said, "I swear to god I'm moving on" just before the bass drops.
Could he be referring to ex-girlfriend Rihanna? He could be.
"The song and the album title Xhas a couple different meanings," Brown said, as quoted by Hollywood Life in a separate report. "It can refer to an ex-girlfriend, in terms of you always look forward to moving forward from."
He added: "It's also about being a reject in a sense. In me being myself, being able to grow up, me not always hanging around the right crowd or doing the right thing all the time - it's me saying, 'I'm over it. I'm past the bulls- now.'"
Whether Brown has indeed moved on, nobody can really tell. But the 25-year-old RnB singer takes baby steps to acknowledge issues between him and Rihanna. The New York Times reported that he had avoided the press for years, because Rihanna's name always popped out.
Today, Brown has been more open. In a recent interview with Billboard, he disclosed about his jail experiences and reflections in life after the sentence. According to him, a usual prison day started with a guard waking him up, and then he ate. He spends most of his day in the cell, the singer added and said there were no creative outlets at all.
When asked what he missed the most, Brown pointed out his family. "I just missed my family. At the end of the day, music is definitely a passion. But when you're dealing with your own personal issues, family is first."
"X" seems to be Brown's darkest album, as reviewed by Vulture. The commentary owes much to the lyrics that built the collection.
Breezy announced "X" on Twitter, consisting of 21 tracks all in all. Those looking to purchase can download it on iTunes for $8.99 or get through Amazon for $14.99.
