Congratulations are in order for Eva Mendes and boyfriend Ryan Gosling the pair reportedly welcomed a baby girl Friday last week.

E! News confirmed the news that the actress gave birth in Los Angeles on Sept. 12 but no additional details have been released. 

Back in July, a source of the entertainment site revealed that the "Hitch" actress was seven months pregnant with her "The Place Beyond the Pines" co-star but it was never confirmed or denied by either of the A-List celebrities.

US Weekly recalled that Mendes, 40, and Gosling, 33, were rumoured to be pregnant following Mendes' refusal to go through an airport scanner. The claim was never acknowledged or officially confirmed by the stars.

Speaking to Ellen DeGeneres on the persistent rumours back in February, she told the daytime host: "It all started because I didn't want to go through the scanners at the airport. You know those X-ray scanners, which are really creepy? They basically see you naked, right? And not only that, but there's a radiation aspect to it, so I always opt out," quoted US Weekly.

The incredibly private pair has always taken great lengths to keep their personal lives to themselves. In an earlier publication, People Magazine's insider said the actress "just hasn't ever wanted anyone beyond her close friends and family knowing more than they had to...And Ryan is certainly private and always has been."

Speaking on how the pregnancy has affected the pair, the insider shared that they've become more of homebodies. "Their lives completely changed as soon as Eva got pregnant. They used to travel all over the place together and go on hikes with their dogs. [But in the past few months] she barely left the house," said a source.

"Ryan has been taking care of her, picking up food and running errands. He has been very supportive of keeping things a secret," the source added. Both Mendez and Gosling couldn't be happier, according to the source.

Mendez has been keeping a low-profile for months wherein occasional sightings would see the beauty covered in several layers of clothing or hiding her mid-section behind accessories.

Hollywood Love Story

The new parents began dating in September of 2011 and co-starred in the 2012 drama "The Place Beyond The Pines."

"He really created the most beautiful, collaborative, creative atmosphere on set," Mendes said to E! News in the past about her hunky beau, "I know, I'm biased."

"He's the best," she gushed. "He's the best."
