Manchester United manager, Louis Van Gaal, is glad with his team's 4-0 victory, crushing the Queens Park Rangers on Sunday.
The patience of the Dutchman was tested as he had to wait for the return of the Manchester spirit. In a report, Sky Sports said new players, Marcos Rojo and Daley Blind, made their debut on the team together with Radamel Falcao who was introduced "off the bench."
Van Gaal believes that fresh and young athletes playing alongside veteran stars like Robin Van Persie and Wayne Rooney will help the team start stronger and better.
"We always have to analyse what we have done. Of course the result is fantastic but we can do much better, I believe. It's a very good start. I said before the game, 'Let's make a new start again,'" the Manchester United manager told Sky Sports.
Van Gaal cited that they can still do better in ball possession saying that the team "lost the ball too much."
"We were more direct to the goal, and I like that. Also we have created, surely in the second half, a lot of chances. But then we don't score and it's always the thing. But I'm very happy," he added.
According to Sky Sports, Van Gaal also shared that the team is starting with a lot of positive things in mind.
"When you have a result that is 4-0, you can be happy. As a coach you always have points that you can improve. I said that at half-time and also after the match. But I am very happy with the result because of the way we have played. We were very dominant and we scored goals. A clean sheet is also very important," he added.
A similar report by The Guardian noted that Van Gaal intensified the team's defense by having four men do the job for the team.
He explained that he changed the formation of his players to keep their defense strong. "I was more or less forced to play with two central defenders but it is also due to the quality of the players that I change the formation," Van Gaal added.
The team probably made its best decision in signing up Angel Di Maria for £59.7M as he would contribute scores to the team.
But aside from Di Maria, the team manager said that they are pushing for their players to regain their fitness. "The problem we have when you see this team - for example Rafa da Silva had not played 90 minutes because he was injured in preparation time. Evans is coming back from injury, played 90 minutes in America once and once against Burnley and now he played his third 90 minutes," Van Gaal said, noting that they would want to avoid problems like this to be able to continue winning games.
