Anna Kendrick has been praised by audiences for her quirky, adorable and down-to-earth personality. But one thing fans need to know is that she takes her privacy and personal time seriously.
The 29-year-old actress revealed in a podcast that she doesn't accept gifts that are sent to her private residence.
In an episode of WTF With Mark Maron, the "Pitch Perfect" star recalled an incident when she received an unexpected gift from a fan.
She said, "I got (a gift) with, like, a really long letter about how he really felt like we should be together, and if I would just give him a chance, and he didn't want to do it over social media because he thought that would pressure me because it was public ... he (wanted) to be a gentleman. And he, uh, sent me a pair of diamond earrings."
Kendrick confirmed that the earrings had real gems but she couldn't bear keeping them.
"I did go and check. And I was just like, these have to go into the trash. I can't. I cannot. I cannot wear them. I can't give them to someone. It's too weird. If the teddy bear goes in the trash, these go in the trash," recalled the "Cups" singer.
It's all a matter of principle for the actress. She's been receiving gifts, some with messages of apology for the "invasion of privacy," but for Kendrick, those tokens of appreciation should've been sent through proper channels, reported the LA Times.
It's no wonder fans are eager to connect with the actress as she's one of the most well-known young Hollywood stars today. Following the success of the 2012 smash hit comedy "Pitch Perfect," the Portland-native is set to reprise her role as Beca in "Pitch Perfect 2" along with Rebel Wilson and Hailee Steinfeld.
"I'm very excited!" exclaimed the actress to Us Weekly previously. "I mean I've signed on with no script, so you know, if it becomes about parasailing instead of singing, don't blame me!"
She'll be working with Elizabeth Banks who's directing and starring in the film alongside Kendrick. Banks shared her feelings on the larger responsibility while on the Today Show.
"Obviously, we had no idea that the first film would catch on as much as it has . . . I hope to bring as much sort of joyfulness, fun and musicality in the second one," Banks said.
"Pitch Perfect 2" will be out in theaters May 2015.
