With the fifth installment of "Pirates of the Caribbean" in full swing, franchise veteran Orlando Bloom reveals whether he will be returning on set to appear in the newest flick.
Johnny Depp is already on board to reprise his role as Captain Jack Sparrow in the upcoming sequel flick titled, "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales", and now other stars set to join him are now being lined up.
The 37-year-old "Lord of the Rings" actor has confirmed at the Oz Comic-Con that he is in talks to return for the new movie.
"There have certainly been some discussions about it and I'm open to it," said the actor per Yahoo! Movies.
"That whole experience working with Johnny and (director) Gore (Verbinski) was really amazing for me. I had a great time working with Johnny, one of the reasons I jumped at the opportunity was because Johnny was involved. I was such a massive fan of Johnny Depp growing up so to get up close and personal to Johnny and see how he worked as an actor was just a massive gift," said Bloom.
Bloom is a major character in the franchise as he is the face of Will Turner, one of the key characters in the story. The actor appeared in the first three films of the series but did not appear in the fourth film, 2011's "Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides".
Other stars rumored to be returning include Keith Richards and Geoffrey Rush, both of whom haven't been officially confirmed. However, leading lady Keira Knightley has already announced in June she "won't be going back", recalled SlashFilm.
The film has Jerry Bruckheimer as producer alongside Joachim Ronning and Espen Sandberg as directors. The makers haven't released plot details but per Bleeding Cool, the film will involve a lot of witchcraft, a new female lead, as well as a ghost playing a lead role who is sided with Captain Barbossa.
With a July 7, 2017 release date, The Guardian reported that "Dead Men Tell No Tales is due to shoot in Queensland after the Australian government agreed to hand tax incentives worth $20.2m (£12.5m) to studio Disney earlier this month." Sites down under identified for filming include Village Roadshow Studios on the Gold Coast--ideal for its numerous tanks which are needed for film production.
If Bloom does join the film, this will be the actor's first time to return to Australia since his split with ex-wife, supermodel Miranda Kerr, noted Mail Online.
