Latina singer Shakira and boyfriend Gerard Piqué are expecting their second child and weeks after their announcement, the baby's gender has been revealed.
According to Hello Magazine, the "Waka Waka" singer is having a boy. Shakira's parents, Nidia Ripoll and William Mebarak Chadid were the ones who made the big reveal to Hola! Magazine.
"We're very happy. She's having another baby boy - a playmate for Milan," quoted the mag of the soon-to-be second time grandparents.
"We don't know anything about names yet," they added.
Shakira, 37, and Piqué, 27, are already parents to 19-month-old Milan, who was born January 2013. The Colombian confirmed her pregnancy in Spanish Cosmopolitan last month and also made the announcement over Twitter.
"Yes, we are expecting our second baby!! Thank you all for your well wishes!," tweeted the beauty.
The growing family is something that Shakira has openly admitted to wanting. Back in April, the Latina admitted to E! Online that she'd like to have a big family. "I would love to have eight or nine kids with Gerard-my own fútbol team."
She says if it weren't for her music projects and other endeavors, she would already be pregnant.
Shakira on Motherhood and Gerard
Experiencing motherhood has been a wonderful journey for the couple, especially the belly-shaking singer. "When you have a baby, when you feel his love, you feel so at peace with the world. You just want to share the good news and share how happy you feel," she told E! Online.
"I've written many love songs for Gerard. But it's never enough. I feel that he deserves a million love songs written for him," commented the footballer's partner per Mirror UK in March. She goes on the share how much the Spaniard has taught her.
"He has a totally different mindset to me. He always thinks about how everything he does will impact on his team. That's very different to megalomaniac artists! I'm my own boss, I don't have a band and don't have to report to anyone. I was also an only child," she explained.
The lovebirds have been together for four years after meeting during the making of Shakira's music video, "Waka Waka (This Time For Africa)," where Piqué appeared.
Congratulations to the happy, expecting couple!
