The Terminator franchise is set to make another thrilling comeback with not just a single reboot, but a trilogy over the next four years.

According to Cinema Blend, "Terminator: Genisys" will be in time for next year's July. The succeeding Terminators will be seen in the coming years with "Terminator 2" coming to theaters on May 19, 2017 and "Terminator 3" arriving shortly on June 29, 2018.

The other two films, on the other hand, will be "surrounded by huge titles that month," said Cinema Blend. A new Marvel Studios film is set to show on May 5, 2017, and a new LEGO movie comes out after the weekend--making for tough comptition for the alleged second film. As for the third film, it is likely to battle with "Godzilla 2" and emerging pictures from Pixar, 20th Century Fox, as well as Marvel Studios.

The Hollywood Reporter lists down people behind the upcoming films, writing:

"Paramount is partnering with Skydance Productions on the trilogy. Alan Taylor is directing 'Genisys', which returns Arnold Schwarzenegger in the title role. Newcomers include Emilia Clarke, Jason Clarke, and Jai Courtney."

Depending on the success of Genisys, the next two films are expected to show back-to-back, following their target dates. The coming sequel films will star more or less the same cast--with a few new faces.

T-800 will again be Arnold Schwarzenegger. Emilia Clarke will play Sarah Connor, Jai Courtney as Kyle Reese, Jason Clarke as John Connor, and Dayo Okeniyi as Danny Dyson. Matt Smith, J.K. Simmons, Byung Hun Lee, Michael Gladis, and Courtney B. Vance are additions to the cast.

Schwarzenegger himself has announced through Instagram that the filming for "Terminator: Genisys" is already over . But the synopsis of the film remains unknown. With the movie believed to be a reboot, it could mean that the storyline will be the same.

Enstarz, however, reported that the film will take on a "time travel" theme which brings viewers back to "Terminator" films in the past while still reconciling with the time setting of "Terminator: Genisys." The film will specifically weave a new plot with the help of "The Terminator" and "Terminator 2: Judgement Day."

Total Film said that overall, the plot for "Genisys" is still sketchy to the public but assured that Sarah Connor, John Connor, Kyle Reese and the T-800 will be part of the film.

"Terminator: Genisys" hits the big screen in July 1, 2015. No official trailer for "Terminator: Genisys" is out yet.
