The Houston Rockets is anticipating Jason Terry's inclusion in the team but the deal might still wait for some time as players Alonzo Gee and Scotty Hopson are still waiting word if they are eligible to be traded to the Sacramento Kings.
The 37-year-old Terry, according to Chron, will be more like an "insurance" to the Rockets as he teams up with Isaiah Canaan, Troy Daniels and Nick Johnson. Though he has come from a frustrating NBA season last year, he is sure to prove to his fans and the whole basketball industry that he is already doing better after some injuries.
His addition to the team is expected to step up its game as a "veteran" player working with equally skilled young players who are doing very well even during their rookie years.
Chron also noted that Terry would be traded by the team because he is worth to be traded.
In a similar report by Fan Sided, it noted that "there is more to the Terry trade than meets the eye." The report said that he will be taken into the team to be a leader and to share to younger players his experience in the NBA being a veteran already.
Terry is also expected to be a valuable player to the team as he had a colorful NBA career and hopefully his experience as guard will reflect in the games he will play with the Rockets.
The player has spent the first part of last season with the Brooklyn Nets then he was traded to the Kings before the deadline. His stay in Sacramento was not what the team expected as he was still recovering from a knee injury which also affected his games.
Terry recorded a career-low of 4.5 points and 1.6 assists per game last season according to My Central Oregon.
Aside from Terry, the Rockets are also reportedly trying to sign Kostas Papanikolaou who, according to Chron, will sign after the World Cup. There are also rumors that the team will sign Eric Bledsoe and Rajon Rondo but these still remain as possibilities.
In July, the Rockets lost Chandler Parsons, one of their star players, who got traded to the Dallas Mavericks for forward, Trevor Ariza. USA Today said that Parsons signed a three-year deal worth $46 million with the Mavericks.
Now, fans are clamoring for the the player who will match Parsons' skills on the court. Chron said that signing Terry or Papanikolau will not suffice to the loss of Parsons.
Fans are definitely looking for a trade that would give the Rockets a "wow" factor and would ensure that its roster of players would contribute to the team's performance during the next NBA season.
