Two more personalities have been confirmed to join the show as panelists.
Deadline first broke out the news, saying that Rosie Perez and Nicolle Wallace were in final negotiations for the show. ABC later on confirmed the rumor, Deadline said in an update.
Perez and Wallace are joining Rosie O'Donnell and Whoopi Goldberg for a show "unlike any in recent history," claims ABC.
According to Variety, the talk show underwent a major overhaul-with "a top-to-bottom remodel." Changes in the show include a "revamped social media presence," having a new producer in the name of Bill Wolff and Jenny McCarthy, Sherri Shepherd and Barbara Walters' respective exits from the show.
Deadline added that the show also has a new logo, a new studio, a new set and an all-new behind-the-scenes team led by Wolff.
The executive producer gushed about the all-new "The View," saying in an ABC statement as quoted by Deadline:
"These are powerful and accomplished women from different walks of life who have had amazing personal and professional experiences. Each brings incredible perspective and information to the table. This mix of smart, vibrant and energetic women is unlike anything else on daytime television."
Both Perez and Wallace seem to be equally excited about being on the show.
"I am beyond thrilled, honored and completely surprised that I've been asked to join 'The View'," said Perez who works as an actress, dancer and choreographer.
"Knowing that I'll be in the company of Whoopi, Rosie and Nicolle, three very smart and engaging women that I have an immense amount of respect for, makes it even more unbelievable. The opportunity to connect with our nation's audience on a daily basis... icing on the cake! Very happy," she added.
According to Variety, the team behind "The View" aims to have a "prominent Latino presence" for the show to have engaging debates. If this is true, Perez does fit the bill as she has Puerto Rican descent.
Wallace, who according to Variety is a former spokeswoman for President George W. Bush, said about the new-found role:
"I am honored to join the tradition of compelling conversations that has been the signature of 'The View' for the better part of two decades. I have watched 'The View' for many years and now to be seated alongside three women that I have admired is both humbling and incredibly exciting."
