On the heels of the nude photo scandal that has rocked Hollywood this week, actress Eva Longoria claims that Apple employees have accessed her personal information to get in touch with her.
Speaking out and adding her own experience with regards to Apple's shortcomings, she detailed a situation where the company's employee contacted her using personal information sourced from the tech giant's database.
The "Desperate Housewives" actress revealed during an interview with Access Hollywood that she has "had a lot of problems of people breaking into [her] email."
When asked it was indeed hacking, she responded, "Yeah my Mac email, not hacked, just go get it from the stores and I had a big problem with that."
With regards to the content of the communication, she revealed that the Texas-based employee contacted her on a non-Apple related concern. "Yeah. 'I made a dress I want to send it to you, I work at the Apple Store here in San Antonio'," the actress said of the alleged Apple employee's rather personal concern.
Obviously flabbergasted by the message, she inquired how they knew of her personal contact details. "I'm like... what? Did someone give out my email? Or my phone!?" said Longoria.
"'I saw your phone number from your profile, I just wanted to call and say hi I'm a fan,'" the individual responded.
She added, "There are a lot of privacy issues."
Hacking Photo Scandal
It was only a few days earlier when naked photographs of over 100 celebrities were leaked online. "The Hunger Games" star Jennifer Lawrence was among the A-Listers whose personal photos, including naked images were illegally published online.
Vogue UK reported that a representative of the actress said in a statement:
"This is a flagrant violation of privacy. The authorities have been contacted and will prosecute anyone who posts the stolen photos of Jennifer Lawrence."
Other celebrities who reportedly had their photos stolen through Apple's iCloud database include Victoria Justice, Ariana Grande and Kate Upton, among others.
Apple has since responded to the alleged iCloud security breach through an official statement:
"After more than 40 hours of investigation, we have discovered that certain celebrity accounts were compromised by a very targeted attack on user names, passwords and security questions, a practice that has become all too common on the Internet. None of the cases we have investigated has resulted from any breach in any of Apple's systems including iCloud® or Find my iPhone. We are continuing to work with law enforcement to help identify the criminals involved," quoted Business Insider.
