The cast of "Terminator: Genisys" have joined in and showed their support to ALS by participating in the Ice Bucket Challenge.

Film stars Emilia Clarke, Jai Courtney and Matt Smith took the challenge posed by David Ellison, producer of the "Genisys" film, noted Enstarz.

Filming of the movie wrapped up early last month with franchise star Arnold Schwarzenegger announcing the news on Instagram.

The 67-year-old posted a photo of himself with his back to the camera sitting on the director's chair that read: "TERMINATOR: GENISYS" in big bold letters. Along with the photo, he took time to thank the dedicated cast and crew for their work.

"Hasta la vista, baby. I want to thank the cast and crew of @TerminatorGenisys for a fantastic shoot. It was challenging, it was fun, and it was rewarding. From our director to the producers, from the camera team to catering, from visual effects to hair and makeup - we couldn't have done it without you. I can't wait to see our finished project and I know we'll remind the fans why they fell in love with the Terminator. On July 1, 2015, I'll be back," said the former governor of California.

The post was also the method of announcing the title of the film which, for the longest time, was believed to be "Terminator: Genesis."

The film is founded on time-traveling robots who travel back in time to change the outcomes in the future.

The Daily Mail UK said that Schwarzenegger previously explained how writers for the movie came up with the idea of aging cyborgs. "Terminator deals a lot with time travel, so there will be a younger T-800, and then what that model does later on when it gets reprogrammed, and who gets a hold of him. So it will be all kinds of interesting twists in the movie, but I feel so good," he was quoted as saying.

He continued: "The way that the character is written, it's a machine underneath. It's this metal skeleton. But above that is human flesh. And the Terminator's flesh ages, just like any other human being's flesh. Maybe not as fast. But it definitely ages."

See the film next summer when it hits theaters July 1, 2015.
