iPhone 6 release date may happen in the second quarter of next year, according to a report from Investor's Business Daily.

Apple's calendar may take a huge turn next year as the company is speculated to announce a new iPhone in less than 12 months.

"A source in the tech supply chain in China and Taiwan told Cantor Fitzgerald analyst Brian White that the iPhone 6 is expected to launch in the second or third quarter of 2014. That would mean the rumored bigger-screen iPhone would come out between the start of April and end of September next year," the report stated.

Susquehanna Financial Group analyst Chris Caso also told the site that he expects the iPhone 6 to be released in late Q2 2014. Caso asserted that Apple is quite pressured to release a new smartphone in a short span of time because of its rival Samsung. The South Korean company releases a wide array of smartphones every year.

Initial reports claimed that the iPhone 6 will come as early as March of next year.

The report continued stating that the upcoming iPhone 6 will come with a larger display. Market research firm DisplaySearch said that it reached out to sources from the Apple supply chain who claimed that the iPhone 6 will pack a screen display that is 5.7 inches in size.

Rumors claimed that iPhone 6 will be Apple's own version of a "phablet" or a smartphone-tablet hybrid.  Aside from a larger screen display between 4.8 to 6 inches, iPhone 6 features may also include a 64-bit A7 processor, M7 graphics chip, Touch ID fingerprint sensor and iOS 7 like the recently released iPhone 5S.

The upcoming iPhone 6 may also pack new features such as NFC and internal storage of up to 128GB.

Apple has yet to confirmed the rumors on iPhone 6.
