The Latina actress revealed what ticked her off after fulfilling her role in the border drama.
Eva Longoria graces the cover of "Latina" magazine for its October 2014 issue and the publication was able to tap into the actress' thoughts regarding the U.S. - Mexico border crisis.
In an interview with Latina, Longoria said of the immigration debate in relation to her newest movie:
"Nothing angers me more than to see talking heads on TV who don't know what they are talking about. You have to study the history of immigration and patterns in order to understand why this is happening right now. I just wish people would view this with a lens of compassion and at the same time education themselves on ignorant statements like, these people come here to suck dry our social services. That is not true."
The actress' border drama, "Frontera," is a movie which tackles the hot issue of immigration in the U.S. The film is helmed by Michael Berry and penned by Louis Moulinet III and the director, reported Variety.
"Frontera" stars Ed Harris, Michael Pena, Eva Longoria, Amy Madigan and Aden Young among others.
"Story is set in the border area between the U.S. and Mexico. Pena's character crosses the border illegally for work - only to find himself wrongfully accused of murdering the wife of a former sheriff (Harris). When his pregnant wife (Longoria) tries to come to his aid, she lands in the hands of corrupt coyotes who hold her for ransom," Variety said of the film's plot.
Though Longoria seems to have a heavy heart when it comes to immigration debate, she still sets aside time for her love life.
Her ex-husband, Tony Parker, married his fiancée and mother of his son, Axelle Francine in early August, according to People but the union has not seemed to affect the actress in any way.
Longoria was reportedly not present during the marriage ceremony, the Daily Mail noted, and it was because she was spending time with her current boyfriend.
"While Parker tied the knot with Axelle, the 39-year-old [smoldering] Desperate Housewives star was seen sunning herself in Capri, Italy with beau Jose Antonio Baston on Saturday," the Daily Mail reported.
With a booming career and a blooming love life, most people would think that the actress is already pretty much successful but Longoria doesn't think so.
"People go, 'How does it feel to be so successful?' and I always think, God, I haven't even tapped into my potential as a human being. There's so much more I want to do with my craft and with the industry I'm in," she told Latina.
"There's so much more I can be and can do that I can't wait until I evolve to the complete human being that I'm supposed to be," she added.
