Fans of the large iPad will have to wait a bit longer as a report claims that Apple is looking at a 2015 release date for the tablet.

According to Bloomberg, "people with knowledge of the matter" have spilled the beans.

"The new iPad will have a screen measuring 12.9 inches diagonally, said the people, who asked not to be identified because the details aren't public. Apple currently produces iPads with 9.7-inch and 7.9-inch displays," said the outlet.

The report added, "The Cupertino, California-based company has been working with suppliers for at least a year to develop a new range of larger touch-screen devices, said the people."

It was previously reported that the iPad Pro could launch fall of this year after Apple solidified its partnership with a Taiwanese supplier. A certain company named TPK is allegedly in charge of next-gen touch sensors production for all iPad devices and the rumored iWatch - all speculated to have a 2014 release date.

The upcoming iPad Pro is expected to be Apple's biggest tablet, should it come to fruition. Bloomberg noted that the company is seeing potential in bigger tablets.

"Potential customers for larger-screen iPads are businesses, where the device could take on more tasks of a traditional laptop computer," said the outlet.

Bloomberg added that Jitesh Ubrani, an analyst at researcher IDC, sees schools and governments on top of businesses as the main market for larger tablets such as Apple's alleged 12.9-inch iPad Pro.

The large tablet is just part of the company's rumored venture into producing larger-sized devices. Apple has also been speculated to be working on a larger iPhone - with alleged 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch models of the phone launching this year, as suggested by rumors.

Rumored specs and features of the iPad Pro are still scarce but in May, Nowhereelse reposted a grainy snapshot of the alleged device. The photo leak was sourced from Chinese website Weibo.

The supposed iPad Pro photo shows the Apple logo in the center, hinting that the component is somewhat part of the rear of the device. Nowhereelse pointed out that the photo could be a mold for the iPad Pro's casing instead of being the casing itself.

A 12.9-inch tablet from Apple could very well generate buzz but the question is, would the interest be enough to send iPad sales up? Bloomberg noted that sales for the company's tablet line have been in decline for the past few quarters.

Do you think the iPad Pro will be a game-changer?
