Disney is reportedly working on filming in the land down under and if all goes well, they may receive a massive incentive worth a cool A$21.6 M, equivalent to US$20.14 M.

Deadline reports that the fifth installment of "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales," is eyeing filming in Oz, among other Australian locations. There was an earlier confirmation by the Oz government to give a one-off payment if Disney Studios shoots its "20,000 Leagues Under The Sea: Captain Nemo" in Australia. However, with the arrangements for the Captain Nemo not yet finalized, it's reported that the incentive may be transferred to alternative nautical film, "Pirates 5".

"The original amount offered to 20,000 Leagues was in addition to the standard 16.5% tax rebate on local spend by foreign productions in Australia, and effectively raised the rebate to 30% - a figure the local industry has long lobbied for as the standard," reported the website.

Over a year ago in April 2013, Tony Burke, minister of Arts announced a one-time grant to Disney to bring production of the Disney sequel to Australia, noted the Sydney Morning Herald. It was estimated that total contribution by the government would amount to $40 million.

It was also confirmed to Fairfax per the SMH, that the Office of the Arts has confirmed that the allocated funds still remain available. However, local officials have kept silent about the move Disney is allegedly trying to make. The federal government was quoted as saying: "any discussions with Walt Disney Studios in regard to potential productions that may film in Australia are commercial-in-confidence".

"Pirates Of The Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales" will be directed by Joachim Rønning and Espen Sandberg and will be hitting theaters July 7, 2017, with Johnny Depp coming back to reprise the role of much-loved Captain Jack Sparrow, claims The Christian Post. Other stars rumored to be coming back for the film include franchise veterans Geoffrey Rush, Jack Davenport, and Keith Richards. One newcomer expected to be in the film is Christoph Waltz who is said to play the role of Captain Brand.

Bleeding Cool via SlashFilm has written about supposed plot leaks, but nothing has been confirmed. While there is no official word, Depp has spoken before about his priority on a good story, script and film maker.

"It's not something where I would say, 'Let's shoot it next month to get it out by Christmas 2012,'" explained Depp to THR. "We should hold off for a bit. They should be special, just like they are special to me."
