The Mexican singer is back on TV but not on a telenovela, unfortunately.

A teaser trailer for Thalia's HBO Latino concert special has been posted on YouTube. The TV concert special is from the singer's "Thalia Viva Tour" in April 2013 at the Auditorio Nacional in Mexico City.

According to Latin Times, the 42-year-old singer announced the TV concert special during a Twitter party. On the same event, Thalia revealed why she loves going back to Mexico.

"Returning to México for a concert is always and will be my favorite," the outlet quoted the singer. "To see my people, the audience that gave me my first opportunity, to eat tacos and to listen to a good mariachi doesn't have a price."

She also admitted that she often visits her home country - even without promotional events going on. The telenovela actress said that she hits "places that are not so touristic," that's why fans are almost always left in the dark with regards to her private visits.

Thalia, with full name Ariadna Thalia Sodi Miranda, shot to fame in the '90s as a telenovela actress but is also a singer, songwriter and author by profession.

The mother of - starred in pretty popular telenovelas such as "Maria Mercedes" in 1992, "Marimar" in 1994 and "Maria La Del Barrio" in 1995. Late in the decade, in 1999, she headlined in the telenovela, "Rosalinda."

Just as she was making news during the '90s, the Latin singer was in the buzz again a couple of weeks ago after addressing a rumor concerning her rib in a humorous way.

She posted an Instagram photo showing a jar of ribs, presumably the ones she had removed to achieve her famous waistline. She captioned the now-unavailable-pic as quoted by The Independent:

"To all my loving Filipino fans, here is the proof! I love my famous ribs, I kept them with me all these years! And the saga continues..."

Although most fans are hoping for the singer to make a telenovela comeback, a TV concert special could still appease some.

Catch Thalia fire it up in the TV airing of "Thalia Viva Tour" at HBO Latino on September 5, 2014, 9:00 pm ET/ 8:00 pm. The show will be a 90-minute special and will include the singer's greatest hits like "Primer Fila" and "Habitamente Siempre."
