Fox News Channel reshuffled its primetime shows to keep its viewers glued.
The sudden reshuffle of primetime programs coincides with Fox News Channel's 17th Anniversary.
The new line up consists of "On the Record" with Greta Van Susteren at 7 p.m.; "The O'Reilly Factor" at 8 p.m.; Megyn Kelly's new show, "The Kelly File," at 9 p.m.; and "Hannity at 10 p.m. Fox News Channel also placed "Shepard Smith Reporting" at 3 p.m.
According to Variety, this unusual move of Fox News Channel is purported to thwart its rivals - smartphones and tablets. Fox News Channel has won over its competitors, in terms ratings, over the years. However, television has its new set of competitors in this new age of digital technology.
It is a common trend that people are turning to their mobile devices whenever there is a newsbreak. According to Fox News Channel's vice president for news and senior exec producer for news and politics Jay Wallace as cited by the report said that the channel tries to give viewers news quickly to avoid them from getting it from somewhere else while having the same TV experience that Fox News has become known.
According to the report, the reshuffle is Fox News' attempt to regain from its slipping ratings despite being the first among its competitors.
