When it comes to directing the most epic films of all time, James Cameron's name is at the top of the list. Cameron recreated the historical account of the Titanic and turned it into a passionate love story about classism and survival. Cameron's Avatar went above and beyond any sci-fi film ever to grace the silver screen. Cameron designed his own species, planet, language and technology, which went on to make it the highest grossing film of all time.

Though speculation has grown throughout the years following Avatar's success Cameron finally announced last week that sequels to the blockbuster were already in pre-production. Fans of the film can only speculate on where the series is headed now. Will Cameron design an all-new affair on a different planet, or will he dive even deeper into Pandora?

"Where I am right now is the scripts are almost done, much of the preliminary design work has been done, so new creatures design, new settings, environments, other places you'll see on Pandora and other places in the Avatar universe" Cameron said. "So it's all coming together, it's all right on track."

Cameron dished to Australia's Parent Herald, saying that he has three sequels in mind, and all the films will be shot simultaneously.  Disney's "Pirates of the Caribbean" used the multiple movie set shoots technique, but as most critics would say, the quality greatly decreased from the original.  

"Christmas 2016, Christmas 2017 and Christmas 2018 is the target," Cameron says. "They'll drop a year apart, so they stay within the public consciousness as one big story."

The quick release times should keep the public excited and in tune with the saga as it unfolds. The only real question fans will pose is, can the saga continue to top itself? There were rumors that the sequel would take place in an underwater world, but Cameron quickly dispelled them. The sequels will likely still be focused on Pandora, except expand into more depth about the planet and all its peoples. Cameron said that he originally thought about exploring Pandora's solar system, but in the end changed his mind due to the already established complexity of Pandora.
