The original "Hotline Miami" game is headed to the PS4 ahead of the sequel, said a PlayStation blog post.
According to the blog post, the game will drop August 19 for PS4 gamers in the US. "Gamers can now use DualShock 4′s touch pad to look around and lock on enemies, and actually shake the controller itself to perform execution moves when you have an enemy pinned on the ground," said the post.
"And to take the violence to the next level, the sounds of those same execution moves are amplified through the speaker on the DualShock 4 itself."
Sony added that "Hotline Miami" for PS4 is a cross buy game so those who already have it on PS3 and/or PS Vita no longer have to purchase it again for the next-generation game console.
The game first launched in October of 2012 on PC, Polygon said. It wasn't until June 2013 when "Hotline Miami" was ported to the PS3 and PS Vita.
Although the original game is sure to delight PS4 gamers, the impending release of the sequel game, "Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number," is also highly-anticipated.
Dennaton Games' Dennis Wedin told Game Reactor that they didn't expect the game to be such a huge hit since they "don't really care so much about what people think, just making it personal and interesting for [them]."
So what can fans expect with "Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number?" Game Reactor quoted Wedin as saying:
"A lot of the characters and the story elements and stuff like that, was already planned out when we did the first game. Just me and Jonatan expanding on the story for us. So we always felt that if the first game works, people buy it, we could do a sequel that we wanted to make."
He added, "It's more like us just fleshing out the story, because the story's very vague, but we have a lot of details and a lot of thoughts to how we make it."
"Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number" is due out Q3 of 2014. Check out the Dial Tone trailer and the soundtrack, "Escape From Midwich Valley" by Carpenter Brut after the game description from Devolver Digital.
"A brutal conclusion to the gruesome saga, Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number follows the escalating level of violence through multiple factions born from the events of the original game and driven by uncertain motivations. Step into the murderous mind of several distinct characters - each with their own motivations and methods of execution - as storylines intersect and reality slips away into a haze of neon and carnage. Blistering combat, an unmistakable visual style, and a powerfully intense soundtrack will once again push you to the limit and questioning your own thirst for blood."
