Samsung Galaxy S5 release date will happen on March 2014 and the smartphone will be available for purchase in April, according to Phones Review.

This rumor was based on the previous release date of the Samsung Galaxy S4, which was announced in March this year and was released last April. However, Samsung fans should not be treated as the confirmed release date of the Galaxy S5.

It is common knowledge that Samsung does not strictly follow a calendar in launching their smartphones, especially its flagship phone. In 2012, Samsung Galaxy S3 was unveiled on May 3 and was already available on the 29th of the same month.

However, other reports said that Samsung Galaxy S5's release date is at the Mobile World Congress event 2014 happening on February 24 to 27.

Latest rumors state that Samsung Galaxy S5 will include the much awaited 64-bit processor which was first seen in the recently released iPhone 5S. Android Authority reported, citing Korean news Web site Daum, the processor chip is already on its final stage of production.

This is probably true as Samsung's CEO Shin Jong-kyun told Korea Times that Samsung would bring 64-bit processors to its future Galaxy phones. However, the 64-bit processor chip may not arrive in "the shortest time". Thus, the said processor may power the upcoming Galaxy Note 4.

Samsung Galaxy S5 will also pack the Android 4.4 KitKat, which will make its debut in October. The said operating system will surely bring new and improved features to Android-based smartphones.

Consumers may also see a fingerprint sensor just like the iPhone 5S. According to Korea Herald, Samsung is working hard with its partner Crucialtec in putting the fingerprint sensor in future Samsung devices. However, the report added that the biometrics feature for Samsung may not be ready until late 2014.

Other specs and features that are rumored to arrive to the Samsung Galaxy S5 include a 20.7 MP back camera. Samsung Galaxy S5 will also come with Sharp's new screen technology, IGZO screen display. Galaxy S5 is also rumored to come with 4K screen resolution, which is beyond Full HD resolution.
