Rory McIlroy continued his recent string of dominance on the PGA Tour by shooting a 67 on Friday to finish at 9-under par for the tournament, good enough for a two-stroke lead over the field when he finished his round. A stormy forecast and some rain didn't keep the Irishman from marching toward what would be his second major championship this year, and his fourth career major.
ROUND 3 COVERAGE INFO
When: Saturday Aug. 10
Where: Valhalla Golf Club
TV: TNT 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. ET

According to Back Nine Network, McIlroy eagled the 18th hole (technically his 9th for the day) which took him to 8-under par. Does Rory have what it takes to win two in a row? So far he's off to a great start.
TIGER STRUGGLES AGAIN
Tiger Woods was hitting the ball all over the place on Friday; the only problem is he couldn't seem to hit it where he wanted to during his second round of the PGA Championship. He finished with a 74 on Friday, the same score he shot the day before. Currently Woods sits at 148 through two rounds and is doubtful to make the cut for the rest of the tournament.
Woods returned after back surgery earlier this in hopes that he would be able to compete in the final two major championships this year. While he was able to return ahead of schedule, Woods has simply not been relevant on the golf course, even withdrawing last week due to further issues with his back.
Woods, who had one of the most successful seasons of any golfer last season and won 5 tournaments, hasn't won a PGA major tournament since the U.S. Open in 2008. His current record in major tournaments entered since that win is 0-for-20. Ouch.
It remains to be seen it Tiger will ever regain even a fraction of his former form and be able to regularly compete for majors as he nears his forties. Eventually every athletes' body will betray her or him, and with each lost season mounting on Tiger, it could very well be that he will never win another major again.
