Finally! After the long wait, eager Terminator fans have been informed what the fifth installment's title will be. According to franchise star Arnold Schwarzenegger, the title for the fifth Terminator film is "Terminator Genisys."
The announcement was made by the 67-year-old and done through his Instagram account. All it showed was a set with the film title lambasted across the back. The former governor of California was sitting on what is presumably the director's chair with his back facing the camera and the chair's marker reading: "TERMINATOR: Genisys."
The post has a long caption that begins with "Hasta la vista, baby" and goes on to thank everyone involved with production.
"Hasta la vista, baby. I want to thank the cast and crew of @TerminatorGenisys for a fantastic shoot. It was challenging, it was fun, and it was rewarding. From our director to our producers, from the camera team to the catering, from visual effects to hair and makeup - we couldn't have done it without you. I can't wait to see our finished product and I know we'll remind the fans why they fell in love with the Terminator. On July 1st, 2015, I'll be back."
The official title of the Terminator 5 film was previously believed to be "Genesis" but following the big reveal, the title has undergone a spelling change.
Per The Verge, while the SYS could indicate technology and systems so to speak, the logical spelling would have been Genesys but that's not the case. The site theorized it could be another teaser "where robots assert psychological dominance by arbitrarily changing the spelling of words" or another alternative would be the "I" being "a reference to "Generation I" which is a focus on the individual and those with feelings of entitlement.
Either way, no other information was revealed along with the photo, which was later re-posted by the film's new official Instagram account. Spreading the news, Arnold also made a quick note offering the same sentiments over Twitter.
Hasta la vista, baby. Thx to cast & crew. Can't wait to remind fans why they fell in love with @Terminator on 7/1/15. https://t.co/oazzne8NEb

Hold onto your seats, it's going to be about a year 'til the film's release. The movie also stars Emilia Clarke, Jai Courtney, Douglas Smith and many others.
No official trailer has been rolled out yet so while waiting, see Arnold in action as his new flick "The Expendables 3" hits theaters next week. See the muscle man alongside other Hollywood action stars bring the heat.
